After more than two decades of conflict, a generation of Somali children lost the opportunity for formal education and other benefits of a stable childhood.
The humanitarian situation in Somalia is rapidly deteriorating and renewed famine is a strong possibility in 2017. Out of 12.3 million Somalis, over half (6.2 million) are acutely food insecure and in need of humanitarian assistance.
Challenges persist in Somalia with only 45% accessing improved water sources and a quarter having sanitation facilities within 10 meters due to unpredictable rainfall, conflict, and neglected water systems.
In January 2016, Helplife Foundation has hired the Subterranean Water Experts (SWEX) in Kenya, for carrying out hydrogeological investigations to identify a suitable borehole drilling sites capable of providing sufficient potable water within Sanaag region area.
